Psalm 2

Vers 1

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)Why do the restless nations madly rage?
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) What haughty schemes are they in vain contriving?
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) The kings and rulers of the earth engage
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) in rash attempts to plot their empty striving.
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) They stand prepared, they all conspire together
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) against the LORD and his anointed King.
Notenbalk regel 7 (iso)Notenbalk regel 7 (rit) “Let us,” they say, “tear loose and break their fetters,
Notenbalk regel 8 (iso)Notenbalk regel 8 (rit) cast off their chains, their shackles from us fling.”

Vers 2

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)Though proudly now they raise their battle cry,
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) how vain is all their frenzied opposition!
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) The LORD, who sits enthroned in heaven on high,
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) laughs them to scorn: he holds them in derision.
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) Then he will speak in wrath and indignation
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) and all their host will he with terror fill:
Notenbalk regel 7 (iso)Notenbalk regel 7 (rit) “I’ve set my King,” so runs his proclamation,
Notenbalk regel 8 (iso)Notenbalk regel 8 (rit) “upon Mount Zion, on my holy hill.”

Vers 3

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)O peoples, listen to the LORD’s decree
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) I will make known his royal declaration:
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) “Your Father I become this very day;
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) you are my Son. To you I give the nations.
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) Ask what you will: your heritage I’ ll make them;
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) their lands you will possess, both near and far,
Notenbalk regel 7 (iso)Notenbalk regel 7 (rit) for with a rod of iron you shall break them,
Notenbalk regel 8 (iso)Notenbalk regel 8 (rit) dash them to pieces like a potter’s jar.”

Vers 4

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)Take heed, O rulers of the earth, and hear
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) Be wise, O kings, and let his edict warn you.
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) Rejoice with trembling; serve the LORD with fear.
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) Now kiss the Son, lest he in fury scorn you,
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) lest in his wrath the LORD cause you to perish,
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) for quickly kindled is his anger’s blaze.
Notenbalk regel 7 (iso)Notenbalk regel 7 (rit) But all who trust in him the LORD will cherish;
Notenbalk regel 8 (iso)Notenbalk regel 8 (rit) he will defend and bless them all their days.
