Psalm 37

Vers 1

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)O do not fret because of evildoers
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) or envy those whose wicked deeds you see.
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) They’ll fade like grass and lose their wealth and power;
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) they like green plants will wither presently.
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) Do good and trust in God, your rock and tower;
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) dwell in the land, enjoy security.

Vers 2

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)The LORD will grant your heart’s desire as favour
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) when you make him your joy and your delight.
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) Commit your way to him. The LORD will ever
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) let vindication dawn for the upright.
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) He richly will reward your just endeavour;
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) your cause will like the noonday sun shine bright.

Vers 3

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)Rest in the LORD with patient expectation,
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) and when the wicked prosper in their way,
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) do not be envious of their wealth and station.
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) Let anger never in your heart hold sway
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) and do not be embittered by vexation.
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) It only leads to trouble and dismay.

Vers 4

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)Those hoping in the LORD for vindication
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) will as their heritage possess the land.
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) But evildoers, to their consternation,
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) will be cut off by God’s almighty hand.
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) Soon you will see their former habitation
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) laid waste, reduced to nothing in the end.

Vers 5

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)The humble will possess the land forever
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) and will enjoy great peace within their gates.
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) The wicked, ready with their bow and quiver,
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) may gnash their teeth at them in angry hate,
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) but God looks down and laughs at their endeavour,
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) for he has set the day of their defeat.

Vers 6

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)The wicked draw the broadsword of oppression
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) and bend the bow to bring the needy down,
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) to slay the upright by their bold aggression.
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) But when the LORD comes, they’ ll be overthrown;
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) he’ll break their bows and drive them to perdition.
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) They with their swords will pierce themselves alone.

Vers 7

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)Far better are the just man’s few possessions
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) than all the wealth that evildoers hoard.
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) Shattered will be the strong arm of oppression,
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) but all the just find refuge in the LORD.
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) He knows their days, and them he in compassion
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) will with a lasting heritage reward.

Vers 8

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)They are not put to shame in days of trouble
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) and will in famine have enough to eat.
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) As for God’s foes, the glory of the rebel
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) will fade like meadows in the summer’s heat
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) and, vanishing like smoke of burning stubble,
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) they all will perish, humbled in defeat.

Vers 9

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)The wicked borrow, but without repaying;
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) as for the just, they give with open hand.
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) Those whom God curses, he will be destroying;
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) to those he blesses he will give the land.
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) The LORD delights in those who without straying
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) walk in his ways; on him they can depend.

Vers 10

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)When in their steps they falter and are shaken,
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) the LORD himself will grasp them by the hand.
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) Young once, now old, I’ve seen how God has taken
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) good care of those who on his help depend:
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) I’ve never known the just to be forsaken
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) or seen their children begging in the land.

Vers 11

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)They’re always freely giving, freely lending;
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) blest are their children, praised by everyone.
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) Like them, do good, to those in need attending;
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) turn from all sin and paths of evil shun.
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) Then you will have as home through time unending
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) the pleasant land that God for you has won.

Vers 12

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)The righteous man to wisdom gives expression;
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) his tongue speaks only what is just and right.
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) Within his heart, God’s law is his possession;
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) his walk will never wander from its light.
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) Though evil men have made his death their mission,
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) the LORD will come to save him from his plight.

Vers 13

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)The LORD will never fail to show his favour,
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) nor let the just by judges be condemned.
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) Walk in his way; hope in the LORD your Saviour.
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) He will exalt you, giving you the land,
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) and when the wicked are cut off forever,
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) you’ll see the outcome of what he has planned.

Vers 14

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)I’ve seen a wicked man whose ruthless power
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) was firmly rooted like a native tree,
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) a tree whose top above all others towered.
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) But soon no trace of him was left to see;
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) although I tried to find this evildoer,
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) I searched in vain: forever gone was he!

Vers 15

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)Observe the upright and the just consider;
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) there is a future for the man of peace.
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) Transgressors will be wiped out altogether;
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) the line of their posterity will cease.
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) Then will the just rejoice with one another
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) in blessings that will evermore increase.

Vers 16

Notenbalk regel 1 (iso)Notenbalk regel 1 (rit)The just look to the LORD for their salvation;
Notenbalk regel 2 (iso)Notenbalk regel 2 (rit) he is their shelter in the time of stress,
Notenbalk regel 3 (iso)Notenbalk regel 3 (rit) the fortress where they seek their preservation
Notenbalk regel 4 (iso)Notenbalk regel 4 (rit) when by the wicked hounded and oppressed.
Notenbalk regel 5 (iso)Notenbalk regel 5 (rit) In him they place their hope and expectation
Notenbalk regel 6 (iso)Notenbalk regel 6 (rit) and find a refuge in his faithfulness.
